Blackspace is an anomalous extra-dimensional realm superimposed upon Realspace, and is empirically measured at a negative Coherence, indicating a complete absence of ontological stability.

Access and Navigation

The most consistent and stable means of entry to and exit from Blackspace is through structures known as Monoliths. All organisms indigenous to this dimension are classified under the Nullikaryota domain.

Physical Structure and Environment

Blackspace is composed entirely of geometric landmasses and islands formed predominantly from Blackstone. These formations are suspended within an infinite, lightless void, across which dunes of red sand naturally accumulate on solid surfaces. Despite the absence of any detectable light source, Blackspace is uniformly illuminated at a baseline of 1600 lumens. However, specialized instrumentation has anomalously recorded a net light emission of -1 lumen, suggesting unknown or non-classical photonic behaviour. An form of radiation permeates the dimension, designated the Imago. This phenomenon is detectable throughout all regions of Blackspace.

Gravity within Blackspace exists in a conceptual rather than conventional form; it behaves as an ideational force, causing all matter to fall in a consistent “downward” direction, despite lacking a singular gravitational origin. The atmosphere in Blackspace is breathable and chemically analogous to that of Realspace.

Structural Geography

At the geometric and magnetic core of Blackspace lies the Luxtree, around which the rest of the dimension orbits or arranges itself. The surrounding landmasses form a vast, generally planar disc of suspended islands. While most islands are located on this plane, some can be found at altitudes significantly above or below it.

These islands vary widely in both size and separation, with the largest exceeding 8,000 kilometres in length. Depending on mass, terrain, and Blackstone shifting, some islands are capable of supporting lakes, seas, or oceans.

The Void Belt and the Darks

Beginning at a radial distance of approximately 20 million kilometres from the Luxtree is the Void Belt. This region is defined by a near-complete absence of matter, including both solid landmasses and air particulates. Functionally, it acts as a barrier that cannot be traversed by non-specialized or non-self-propelled craft. The Void Belt stretches for 500,000 kilometres, beyond which the dimensional conditions appear to reset, giving rise to two distinct regions: the Inner-Dark and the Outer-Dark.

The only known method of traversing the Void Belt is through the occurrence of a Void Reach — a naturally forming, temporary gravitational corridor where pressure and force equalize between the Darks. These corridors form habitable bridges that allow matter and vessels to safely traverse the otherwise impassable region.
